What, no acacia?!

Ah, that subject again that is dear to my heart – recurring, duplicated and cliched book covers!

This time, this article from The Guardian discusses Arabic and Africa-related book covers, the latter nearly always having the ubiquitous sunset with acacia tree.

As an author of an African epic novel myself, I was very happy with the design the publishers gave me. The reddish-gold colour tones might have been there, but I thought the feather effect and the map was terrific, with nary an acacia in sight.
